CPAP Gave Her Energy, and Helped Cure Her Acute Back Pain

Click through to get the whole story of her back pain, and her cure at the hands of RNI’s extremely skilled physical therapists.
This Kansas City woman originally came to RNI to treat her acute back pain. An important part of her surgery-free treatment was to sleep on her back instead of her side. But like many people who snore, she had been sleeping on her side. It let her get “some” sleep, but she was still tired all the time and napping often. The back pain is what finally made her take the step toward CPAP therapy, and she is very grateful for the improvement in her quality of life.

Sleep Therapy Fixed Her Husband’s Sleep Problems

An RNI appointment scheduler, Amber Smith, dragged her snoring husband in for a sleep study at RNI Sleep Center.  He used to snore and snort in his sleep, fall asleep on the couch.  After getting therapy “he’s a much different person… he doesn’t want to take a nap, or fall asleep on the couch at night. He gets up at his normal time and he’s good to go.”

RNI Scheduler Loves Her CPAP, “It’s worth it!”

After her husband found relief with CPAP therapy, RNI scheduler Amber Smith thought she would sleep better. After all, wasn’t it her husband’s snoring that had kept her up at night? But when she still felt tired at work, Dr. Rowe suggested she might have a sleep problem of her own. If only to prove Dr. Rowe wrong, Amber got a sleep study. Now she finally gets the quality sleep she always dreamed of.

“I would 100% recommend CPAP to anyone with sleep problems…

A sleep study changed this woman’s life. She first came to the RNI Headache Clinic for relief from migraines, for which she was taking several medications with serious side effects. She also had insomnia, but didn’t know that her insomnia was caused by a sleep disorder.

She makes a very important point about the mind games sleep disorders play: She thought that she couldn’t sleep because of anxiety and depression. In fact, as soon as she got CPAP therapy for her sleeping disorder, her anxiety and depression greatly reduced. She also got rid of migraine headaches and the four medications she was taking for them.
